On a Car I barely drive. So I did the only thing a brother can do, be completely unnecessary. She expects $10 out of me. Final total: $1.13, after rounding up. My other sister added the nope.

Ha, my sister asked me for 10 grand the other day, then 5, then 2 then 500$.. siblings... (she's 22 with a job)...

Meh, I just gave my 22-year-old sister a check for $250, but that was a graduation present.

Heh, if she'd been in my family, not only would she have got the 'nope', but that ten dollar bill would have been gone as well :)
Well, no, come to think of it if it was my sister she'd just have said 'daaaaaad! I need money for petrol'...

My mom offers me gas money now that I'm 24 and live on my own. Only offered it once or twice while I was in college. Never while I was in high school :/ she always just said I would have to work harder to get gas money if I wanted any. Thankfully no brothers or sisters to share my car with :)

My sisters don't usually ask me for money until it's bill time (we split a monthly phone plan).
Once in a while we buy each other things, but we're all adults with jobs, so meh.
My twin sister is the complain-y one, lowest paying job of all of my siblings, but isn't really motivated to do something else. That would require effort, of course. Meanwhile I'm trying to pick up either a better, or a second job so I can help support my girlfriend right now.
Life is tough, if you can't afford the gas, get another job.

Why do siblings think that our money is disposable and that we can just give them large portions of our savings?

Exactly, if it's a gift okay. I've bailed my sister out on the edge of bankruptcy more times than I can count in the past few years. I drew the line this time around. Unfortunately, she took it very poorly and we're not on talking terms anymore.

Because they are so much more important than us ;)

Bankruptcy might be a good experience for a 22 year old sister. She has plenty of time to recover.

Yup, told her "this is a you problem, not a me problem, deal with it". You can only do so much...

It's weird... My siblings and I don't ever ask each other for money. On the other hand, we do ask each other, all the time, for help with various projects.

We all share one car. Thing is, since she is still in school and my job hasnt started yet she drives it almost exclusively. Which why both my twin and I laughed at her when we saw that she expected equal money for gas.
